Bitter end to near perfect day
Michael was once again, straight on the pace from the moment that he left the pits and even lapped the field in practice! Qualifying went according to plan as Michael put the car on pole by over a second and managed to split the much quicker Zeus cars! "Qualifying on the Stowe circuit is quite hard as it is tricky to find space for a quick, clean lap; judgement has to be just right, to avoid quicker cars catching you while trying to avoid slower cars!"
"Race one went perfectly, I made a great start and once I had pulled out a good lead, I made sure I kept my nose clean and brought the car home across the line". Race two however was not a race to remember for Michael; after making another fantastic start, the pack of cars headed towards the tight left-hander 'West'. Two cars in front collided and became an unavoidable obstacle for Michael who was eliminated on the spot. "Stowe is a very circuit on entry into corners and the car in front was simply looking for space that did not exist. I could see that an incident was inevitable so i braked earlier and stayed on the outside of the corner. The two Zeus' had quite a late coming together which meant that I had already committed to the corner. This is not the way that I wanted to end the day as I felt that I could have taken another comfortable victory. Unfortunately you have to take the rough with the smooth".
