Gutsy qualifying effort puts Michael and Mtech third on the grid

Michael and team-mate David Back will start tomorrow’s race (3rd April) from third on the grid after Michael put in a fantastic lap, having never driven the car before!

“We had a run out with CHAD Racing in one of their 430s last year but in very wet conditions. The balance and feel of the car today was totally different; like learning a whole new car in effect!”

After only four laps in the car, Michael was within a couple of tenths of pole position and professional drivers Ryan Lewis and Rob Barff.

“My objective for the session was to put the car near the front of the grid and then hand over to David (Back), so he could get as much track time with the car as possible”.

The team spent the remainder of the afternoon practising pit stops in preparation for tomorrow’s race.

“David will be starting the race so we ran through a few pit stop simulations with him in the car before I jump in. There’s a strong chance we can win this race tomorrow so we want to make sure that everything is as good as it can be”.
