Broadhurst confirms G50 Cup deal for Silverstone

Michael will be back in action this weekend (28-30th August) driving for Welch Motorsport in the highly competitive Ginetta G50 Cup at Silverstone (Northampton). The team have already tasted victory in the championship this year, and Michael is optimistic of his chances going into the weekend.

“I’m ecstatic to be racing again this weekend having been sidelined from action since our win in the GT4 Cup back in May. Silverstone is a track where I have always excelled so I think we should be able to rustle a few of the regulars’ feathers”.

In preparation for the weekend, Michael will be testing at Silverstone tomorrow (26th August) to enable him to get up to speed with the car and team.

“Obviously it’s a new team for me and a new set of guys to work with so the test day will give us a chance to gel together while I get up to speed. We’re not here to make up grid numbers or help any one in the championship so it’s important for us to be as prepared as possible heading into the weekend”.

Qualifying begins at 10:45 on Saturday August 29 with race one (over 22 laps) starting at 17:25. Sunday's races are at 10:10 (22 laps) and 15:55 (20 laps).
