Michael Broadhurst made his first appearance in the new Ginetta G50 GT4 car at a cold and damp Silverstone circuit with RPM Motorsport yesterday (22nd February). Sharing the car with his fellow team-mates, Michael was the first to venture onto the circuit and began learning the car.

After a frustrating first outing in the Speedworks Ginetta at a greasy Silverstone last Friday, Michael returned to the Northamptonshire circuit for further testing on the Friday (2/11/07) prior to the race meeting. "The day was extremely productive and I learnt a huge amount about the car within the two 30 minute sessions".

Having been absent from the cockpit of a racing car since April, Michael made his first appearance on track in the Speedworks Ginetta. With extremely difficult track conditions facing the 19 year old, Michael set about learning the car on a very greasy Silverstone circuit.

Having been sidelined from racing for the entire 2007 season, Michael was finally able to confirm a late deal with Speedworks Motorsport to race one of their Ginetta G20 cars at the famous Walter Hayes Trophy meeting at Silverstone 3-4th November.

Due to financial difficulties, Michael was sidelined from racing at the most important meeting of the year at Brands Hatch, which supported the British Touring Cars and Formula Renault UK Championship in front of a packed crowd and live television coverage. ?We were still working to secure a budget for the weekend on Friday morning but unfortunately we were unsuccessful.

With only three races remaining in the 2006 BARC Formula Renault Championship, the teams moved to Thruxton for round 10. With no practise available, it was straight into the 20 minute qualifying session where Michael was instantly on the pace, taking provisional pole for the first half of the session.
